Our Kid at Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility's Open Day

Nowgen took part in the Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility’s Open Day on 12 March 2010. Nowgen exhibited Our Kid: a 7ft tall human form multimedia and interactive sculpture that charts the history of healthcare through embedded digital screens.

The Open Day was an informative, educational and fun event, compromising of tours of the facility, presentations and activities. The aim of the day was to forge closer links with the local community & students, show these groups how clinical research makes a difference to them and raise awareness about careers in this field.

The Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility, Manchester was established with the aim of providing purpose-built, dedicated clinical research facilities for use by the local research community, where patients and volunteers can participate in research programmes.

The aim of the facility is to support and encourage high-caliber research and science and ensure that it is conducted to the highest possible standards

Outstanding achievements have been pioneered as a result of clinical research carried out in our region, with Manchester being at the centre of a significant expansion in knowledge, understanding, technical advances and treatments in healthcare.
