Nowgen and Applied Biosystems run molecular biology course

Nowgen and Applied Biosystems, part of Life Technologies, delivered an introductory course for researchers to learn practical skills and to increase their understanding of molecular biology tools .

The two-day course, An Introduction to miRNA & siRNA, gave an overview of miRNA and siRNA molecular biology techniques, covering approaches to experimental design and optimization. The second day gave participants practical experience of miRNA analysis in the laboratory.

Course instructors were specialists from Life Technologies from the Genome Instrumentation team; Dr Stephen Hague and Dr Simon Chandler.

Nowgen and Applied Biosystems are collaborating on another molecular biology technique course to be held in June 2010 on Q-PCR techniques.

Nowgen organised and developed the course with Applied Biosystems and the course took place in The Nowgen Centre. Within the Nowgen Centre, Nowgen runs a comprehensive programme of training courses primarily for health professionals and researchers across the UK and increasingly from overseas.
