Peter Finegold is the Director of Public Programmes at Nowgen. He is responsible for the development and delivery of Nowgen’s public engagement activities, which set out to promote greater appreciation of modern genetics and its impact on all our lives.
Originally a comprehensive school teacher, Peter previously managed the education programme at the Wellcome Trust. He was responsible for developing much of their vision for the National Science Learning Centre, which forms part of the jointly-funded Science Learning Centres initiative with government.
Peter has also managed a number of policy-related education research projects, and has also supervised the expansion of the use of performing arts as a mechanism for engaging young people in issues arising from biomedical science research.
